On Thursday, Yoma headed to the NEC, Birmingham for the highly anticipated Internet Retailing Expo.
The event, which ran from the 20th - 21st March, brought together eCommerce brands and solutions, along with a packed schedule of keynote sessions from industry experts, and as always provided great networking opportunities.
The expo was a great opportunity to meet with industry leaders, potential clients and even a few friendly faces including the team at Magento, who had a strong presence at this years event, with a prominent stand at the entrance to the expo, which was great to see!
We also had a chance to catch up with our friends from Transaction Partnership, who got involved with a number of seminars within the “Customer Journey” theatre at the event. The theatre hosted a number of interesting seminars from industry experts, discussing ecommerce and multichannel customer's experience, and new solutions that can be used to improveme the overall customer journey.
Yoma attended a number of great seminars throughout the day, and we particularly found Julia Monro’s seminar very insightful. Julia spoke about her experiences as Social Media Manager for Marks & Spencer, and the role social media now plays in the global business. Social Media is now a key, influential channel for the brand to connect with customers worldwide, finding out their views and thoughts on specific products and campaigns, aswell as a means for generating publicity. Julia shared some great ideas and tips, which we are looking forward to implementing for our Social Media clients.
Exhibitions are a great way to keep on top of the latest news and advances within the eCommerce sector, and Internet Retailing Expo certainly ticked all the boxes for us. Overall the event was a great success and the YOMA team are looking forward to getting involved with the event in 2014!
