Over the weekend our development team headed down to Manchester for the highly anticipated “PHP North West” event.
Acknowledged as the most widely used programming language on the web, PHP is utilised by over 5 million developers and accounts for 40% of existing web applications - therefore PHP North West was a key date in our development team calendar.
PHP North West featured a packed schedule of keynote sessions from industry experts, and as always included lots of prize draws and open networking - the icing on the cake!
The days events kicked off with an introductory speech by Ade Oshineye, Senior Developer Advocate in Google’s London office, working on the Google+ project. Quite the character, Ade’s speech was a great start to the event, with plenty of jokes and interaction with the crowd.
Our development team also attended talks on debugging, open source software and data structures in PHP, and gained some very useful information from the weekends seminars.
Overall the event was very well organised and a great success - The YOMA team are already looking forward to PHP North West 2013!!
